The Boom Closet was established in 2022 and we opened our first retail location in Mott, North Dakota in January of 2023. Despite being located in a small town of just over 600 people way off the grid, we became a staple in the firearms industry of southwest North Dakota. In 2025 we opened our brand-new retail location in Dickinson, ND right off the interstate.
We specialize in premium firearms, suppressors, optics, ammunition and accessories and have a national footprint selling guns all across the country. We sell and can acquire almost all the popular guns today and are the only dealer in western North Dakota for popular high-end brands such as Agency Arms, Staccato, Sons of Liberty Gunworks, Evolve Weapon Systems, B&T, and more.

About the owner
Ben Boyll is the owner/operator of The Boom Closet LLC. A special operations combat veteran, law enforcement officer and paramedic, Ben has spent the past 15 years working as a full time first responder. Ben joined the Army after graduating from high school in 2003 and while serving with the 75th Ranger Regiment as an infantryman, deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan in the early part of the GWOT.
Working as a career first responder across numerous states in both urban and austere environments he decided to bring his love and passion for the firearms and shooting industry to life by opening The Boom Closet in 2022. Aside from operating the store on a daily basis he enjoys shooting and hunting, as well as spending time with his wife Megan who also works in the store, and his four daughters. Stop on by and say hi as you can almost always find him behind the counter showing customers his favorite guns!
